[00:05:10] <inthl> can one clear something up for me? Either my setup is somewhat broken or I got things wrong: sending 1 email to multiple recipients, say 4 people, using BCC so that they can't see who else got the mail, then everyone of the 4 recipients has the 'To:' as the recipient (which might be a totally different address), instead of seeing 'mail came from <sender> and is designated to <you>', they all see 'mail came from <sender> and is
[00:05:10] <inthl> designated to <email-in-to:-field>' ..is that correct?
[00:06:28] <inthl> that is the case with my setup, I actually want everyone of the recipients to see 'mail came from <sender> and is designated to <you>' without mentioning any To:-recipients
[00:08:19] <inthl> leaving To: just blank leads to undisclosed-recipients:; so 'mail came from <sender> to <your-address>' is usually not being shown, true?
[00:10:51] <rob0> well, this is really more a general email question, not much to do with Postfix; that part that IS about Postfix, the answer is no, you can't.
[00:11:16] <rob0> Headers in mail have nothing to do with routing.
[00:11:33] <rob0> !envelope
[00:11:33] <knoba> rob0: SMTP has MAIL FROM and RCPT TO commands. Addresses in those commands are envelope addresses. There is no requirement that they appear in any header.
[00:12:48] <rob0> What a user sees depends on her MUA. They're not all alike, and you can't force them to display things all the same.
[00:15:38] <rob0> Yes, when you send a Bcc, that recipient address won't appear in To: nor Cc: headers.
