[09:17:47] <int-0x21> Morning
[09:18:24] <int-0x21> Does anyone have some experience on building highly availible iscsi solutions using zfs ?
[09:19:17] <int-0x21> Im thinking along the lines of doing zfs mirrors where one disk is local and another is on a seperate server with iser
[09:20:16] <int-0x21> Then using a failover pair of iscsi gateway export it to vmware and have vmfs on that
[09:21:28] <int-0x21> I find it hard to find information about these kind of solutions that dosnt involve sas multipath, i will be using ssd devices so no multipath availible

[12:30:47] <anEpiov> this is more a conceptual question.
[12:32:09] <anEpiov> anybody here familiar with NVME multique scaling? I wonder whether linux got access to such interface.
[12:32:38] <anEpiov> could zfs potentially make use of this new way of I/O access for creative solutions?
[12:33:15] <anEpiov> daes multi-queue scaling open potential new solutions?
[13:08:16] <DeHackEd> new versions of linux do have multiqueue support in the block device
[13:08:54] <DeHackEd> but broadly speaking ZFS has a lot more CPU overhead. compression, checksum, ARC...
[13:09:12] <DeHackEd> there are tunables you'll want to crank up as well because the default disk queue settings within ZFS are tuned for spinning media
