[20:15:23] <filt3rek> singmajesty: hej are you here ?
[20:15:39] <singmajesty> Yep
[20:17:02] <filt3rek> I have strange error using lime 2.0.0 alpha 7
[20:17:14] <filt3rek> Activity class does not exist
[20:17:23] <filt3rek> while with lime 1 it works fine
[20:17:38] <filt3rek> I sent you an email with this error and the pm -d problem
[20:19:57] <singmajesty> Is it a difference between org.haxe.lime and org.haxe.nme?
[20:28:47] <filt3rek> (I'm testing again...)
[20:31:57] <filt3rek> there is no org.haxe.nme
[20:32:00] *** caribou| has quit IRC
[20:32:24] *** caribou| has joined #openfl
[20:32:56] <filt3rek> when I try with lime 1.0.1 and openfl 2.0.1 it works fine and I have org.haxe.lime
[20:33:46] <filt3rek> when I try with lime 2.0.0 alpha 7 and openfl 2.1.5 I get pm unknown option -d and Error 3 (activity class does not exist) and i have also org.haxe.lime
[20:37:54] <filt3rek> so it will be removed or it will be kept (-d) ?
[20:39:44] <singmajesty> mrcdk: Try updating the Android developer tools version
[20:39:57] <singmajesty> I'm not sure if there's a good way to detect the version used
[20:40:08] <singmajesty> but there's this hugely annoying issue where it will not install an application if it's a version downgrade
[20:40:14] <singmajesty> and downgrades occur if your build ID is lower
[20:40:20] <singmajesty> which often happens if you switch to a new machine
[20:40:30] <singmajesty> or if you have a tendency to build OpenFL samples at various times
[20:40:44] <singmajesty> The "-d" flag forces it to install, even if it's a downgrade
[20:40:49] <singmajesty> but older tools don't support the flag
[20:41:00] <mrcdk> I know what it does, it just break on older android versions
[20:41:09] <mrcdk> it's not related to the sdk tools
[20:41:30] <mrcdk> it related to the package manager inside the android version
[20:41:42] <singmajesty> Are you sure? You have older and newer devices, some that work, and some that don't?
[20:41:48] <mrcdk> the command is adb shell pm -d *.apk
[20:42:19] <mrcdk> that sends the command `pm -d *.apk` to the device
[20:42:42] <mrcdk> I haven't tested it but I've seen reports that it's broken
[20:43:00] <filt3rek> yes :/
[20:44:02] <singmajesty> I wonder if "pm list features" tells us whether the flag is supported
[20:45:10] <singmajesty> Do you guys have a way of running that?
[20:46:55] *** mkv25 has quit IRC
[20:47:07] <mrcdk> that command only list the features supported by the device
[20:48:06] <mrcdk> just tried 'pm -d' in android 2.3 and it says unknown command
[20:48:15] <singmajesty> Yeah, I'm trying to get an idea of what we can use to detect whether a device supports the "-d" flag
[20:48:32] <singmajesty> because it's something that's very annoying, that I'd like to resolve moving forward
[20:50:52] <singmajesty> Perhaps we could use "adb shell getprop ro.build.version.release" to check the device version
[20:50:59] <singmajesty> and just need to know which version adds the -d flag support
[20:58:05] <EEight> so if i have a swf (no as3, only tweens) can i use openfl to export it to html5?
[20:58:39] <mrcdk> dunno, being it an internal program who knows what version each company will bundle
[20:58:46] <mrcdk> stock 4.4.2 has it
[20:59:32] <EEight> mrcdk: are you answering my question?
[20:59:41] <mrcdk> nope
[21:01:15] <singmajesty> EEight: In theory, yep
[21:01:29] <singmajesty> Though the HTML5 export doesn't fully support animation at the moment
[21:01:34] <singmajesty> so it's more ideal for a layout
[21:02:20] <singmajesty> mrcdk: I'm going to try and see if I can check the version and add "-d" if it's greater than Android 2, maybe?
[21:02:28] <singmajesty> Like Android 4 maybe has it, 2.3 does not?
[21:02:47] <mrcdk> 4.1.2 doesn't have it either
[21:02:50] <singmajesty> I just can't count the number of times an old version of an app has run, and I've had to double check and see if the INSTALL_FAILED printed
[21:02:55] <singmajesty> Oh :/
[21:03:07] <singmajesty> I wonder when they added it, I tried looking but couldn't find it
[21:09:00] <mrcdk> it's probably API >21 or something like that
[21:09:15] <mrcdk> >19
[21:10:01] <filt3rek> it seems to be 4.2 that introduced the -d option
[21:10:34] <mrcdk> then >17
[21:13:27] <mrcdk> but, as I said, that depend of the rom maker and what version he compiles
[21:17:13] <singmajesty> So we're sure that API 17 does not include it?
[21:17:38] <mrcdk> it does
[21:17:42] <mrcdk> >=17
[21:17:48] *** bigp has quit IRC
[21:17:58] <mrcdk> 4.2 is API 17
[21:20:29] <singmajesty> Yeah, I was going to guess 17 as well as newer
[21:20:32] <singmajesty> and not just 18 and up
[21:20:42] <singmajesty> This seems to be working here
[21:28:37] <singmajesty> It's too bad that "adb install" does not return any exit codes
[21:28:51] <singmajesty> We really should be stopping when it says that if failed to install the app
[21:28:55] <singmajesty> and not continuing with a run
