[22:44:39] <noobscrub72> hi all, I'm back yet again on my freshly installed manjaro.. so.. I downloaded some .sh file to install jdk.. but i have no idea how to run it ;-; and google is refusing to be helpful to me today..
[22:45:10] <optics> chmod 777 yourfile.sh
[22:45:19] <optics> ./yourfile.sh
[22:45:34] <noobscrub72> what's the 777 for?
[22:45:50] <optics> give it permission to run the virus
[22:45:56] <optics> err, install script ;)
[22:46:00] <noobscrub72> xD
[22:47:01] <noobscrub72> looks to be working, awesome thanks
[22:48:14] <optics> instead of 777 in the future you should use chmod +x yourfile.sh
[22:49:33] <noobscrub72> well i'm the only user on here, so is there a big dif?
[22:51:33] <optics> +x is safer
[22:51:58] <optics> just a different way to make your file executable
