[11:18:14] <the_alien> hi
[11:18:27] <toulmean> hey
[11:18:51] <the_alien> how are you?
[11:20:04] <the_alien> got a little question about the element types. :)
[11:20:13] <toulmean> ok ?
[11:20:32] <the_alien> does the normal element type implementations implement equals() ?
[11:21:01] <toulmean> yep
[11:21:10] <toulmean> actually they fall back on the Object equals()
[11:21:20] <toulmean> which is equivalent to ==
[11:21:23] <the_alien> was confused why you don't use the contains() method of sets
[11:21:33] <the_alien> ah that would explain it
[11:22:04] <the_alien> would have made the filtering a lot more readable ;)
[11:22:11] <toulmean> when we started working with ElementTypeEx, we had errors about that. You need to be careful to always use equals()
[11:23:02] <the_alien> have overriden the equals() method of ElementTypeEx to use the contains method on IElementTypeEx objects
[11:23:26] <toulmean> wasn't it overridden already ?
[11:23:58] <the_alien> uhm, no?
[11:24:23] <toulmean> ok, that's good then

[11:40:54] <the_alien> uhm toulmean, you work with macosx, right?
[11:42:32] <toulmean> yep
[11:43:51] <the_alien> when i'm trying to open the NoGatewayEditor in debug mode it says "Cannot connect to VM"
[11:44:14] <toulmean> I need more details
[11:44:20] <the_alien> uhm, do i have to install something in macosx to get debug mode to work?
[11:44:24] <toulmean> your OS ?
[11:44:36] <toulmean> ah, you are on Mac ?
[11:45:07] <toulmean> what's your current VM ? the bundled Java 1.5 ?
[11:45:17] <toulmean> do you have a stack trace ?

[11:45:51] <the_alien> i'm running mac os x
[11:53:26] <the_alien> hmmm
[11:53:41] <the_alien> may have something to do with permissions as far as i can see
[12:00:09] <the_alien> hmmm, copying it to the user dir doesnt do the trick
[12:00:28] <the_alien> sometimes using another os gets pretty annoying :D
[12:00:39] <toulmean> well
[12:00:50] <toulmean> never had that one
[12:01:00] <toulmean> I would google for it
[12:01:14] <toulmean> or simply try several times, and hope for the best.
[12:01:29] <toulmean> otherwise don't go debug, and make syserr calls
[12:01:36] <toulmean> ok got to walk the beast
[12:01:59] <the_alien> have fun :)
