Clearly things have changed a lot since then, and understandably so :) I've kciking the tires of Angular2 because we're looking to migrate a thick client product to a web front end.

Looks like I need to avoid invoking Angular here because it's doing something really weird and messed up. Wish I could do a bug report or recreate it for y'all here to see, but this is a lot of code belonging to a government agency, so I can't.
