[16:39:22] <mojavelinux> it was a real nail-biter ;)
[16:39:32] <lincolnthree> i'd pay money to see that
[16:40:21] <clerum> I had some really profound thoughts....but it appears the logger missed them all
[16:40:56] <mojavelinux> they're called dreams
[16:40:57] <mojavelinux> hahaha
[16:41:09] <clerum> that would explain a lot
[16:41:30] <clerum> I code all night in my sleep and when I wake up github shows nothing
[16:41:56] <mojavelinux> hahaha, man, github for dreams, now that would be amazing
[16:42:09] <mojavelinux> I woke up this morning looking for my new Android phone
[16:42:21] <mojavelinux> then I realized, I don't have a new phone
[16:43:36] <mojavelinux> ;-)
[16:44:15] <mojavelinux> so the only other time that would work that isn't in the middle of the night for anyone
[16:44:24] <clerum> I would be sangging a nexus s if I could get one here
[16:44:28] <mojavelinux> is ~ 6PM EST
[16:44:41] <clerum> fine by me
[16:44:45] <clerum> 4PM MST
[16:44:46] <mojavelinux> which is great for west-coasters
[16:44:55] <mojavelinux> are you PST or MST?
[16:44:59] <clerum> MST
[16:45:08] <mojavelinux> ah, same for Rodney
[16:45:13] <mojavelinux> Denver
[16:45:19] <clerum> and lightguard_jp
[16:45:27] <clerum> if he is slc
[16:45:29] <mojavelinux> yep
[16:45:49] <mojavelinux> now, in Brisbane, that's 8AM, but that's a lot better than it being 2AM :)
[16:46:36] <mojavelinux> i'll have shane do a doodle poll to see if we're all in
[16:47:02] <clerum> k
[16:47:16] <mojavelinux> shane might decide the current time is fine for him, then the other option is to stay put, so we'll find out
[16:47:44] <mojavelinux> the other news is that we are going to do a solder release hopefully by this weekend...actually, definitely, even if we don't get all issues resolved
[16:48:21] <mojavelinux> because I think it's more important to have something in maven we can switch to
[16:49:05] <clerum> new parent then too?
[16:49:14] <clerum> hopefully at the same time
[16:49:17] <mojavelinux> yes
[16:49:50] <jharting> mojavelinux: is this release going to be working on glassfish or are there problems on the GF side?
[16:50:42] <mojavelinux> I'm not sure, but my understanding is that the GF issue does not require a change in Solder
[16:51:04] <mojavelinux> or, I should say...
[16:51:23] <mojavelinux> by changing Solder, we don't get a fix...the fix has to come first from the GF side, so we have to try it with the new GF build
[16:51:28] <mojavelinux> then decide what steps still need to happen
[16:51:39] <jharting> mojavelinux: ok
[16:53:43] <mojavelinux> we may need more than one parent release before we can switch over all modules...one that references solder and the existing module versions
[16:54:06] <mojavelinux> then perhaps one that reflects where we will be when all the modules are released...that's a tricky one
[16:55:01] <mojavelinux> as for last week's AI, I haven't gotten to creating the document outlining which changes we want to make to sfwk.org content...still need to get to that
[16:55:43] <mojavelinux> jharting: I saw that you got the catch integration worked out with jason...I'm excited to check that out later today
[16:57:05] <jharting> mojavelinux: It's basically what Jason put into the jaxrs example ported into seam-rest, plus the configuration was adjusted to that
[16:58:01] <mojavelinux> got it...when I first read up on the REST module, my reaction was that the XML config was a bit verbose, partly because it's just more verbose in Seam Config than in Seam 2
[16:58:13] <mojavelinux> but I think with some changes to Seam Config, we may even be able to trim it down more
[16:58:27] <mojavelinux> I forgot to do the XML Config for the Servlet module, so I'll be going back to do that
[16:59:41] <mojavelinux> but if I were coding up an app, I think the Java config would be the way I'd prefer to handle the exception
[16:59:58] <mojavelinux> so we may not have to stress too much about how verbose the XML is
[17:00:23] <mojavelinux> what are your thoughts?
[17:01:36] *** pmuir has quit IRC
[17:01:47] <jharting> mojavelinux: I agree that is it definitely more verbose than in Seam 2 (i.e. <s:value tags get repeated over and over) On the other hand I am not sure if this can get better easily.
[17:05:36] <lincolnthree> hey maxandersen, yt?
[17:05:40] <mojavelinux> I agree, that part we might be stuck with, but having the collection producers might make it just right
[17:06:17] <mojavelinux> okay, as for the meeting, I think we are done (if we ever started)...look for a possible meeting time change survey before next week

[22:32:00] <lightguard_jp> change gc settings?
[22:32:00] <lincolnthree> well
[22:32:02] <mojavelinux> it should either go under Solder

[22:32:07] <lincolnthree> maybe not mojavelinux
[22:32:10] <mojavelinux> I know which one you want to pick :)
[22:32:19] <lincolnthree> since forge is not going to be branded Seam for long
[22:32:26] <lincolnthree> it's going top-level JBoss
[22:32:44] <mojavelinux> ah, as Forge?
[22:32:46] <lincolnthree> yep
[22:32:53] <lightguard_jp> JBoss Forge?
[22:32:57] <lincolnthree> just like Arquillian
[22:33:00] <lincolnthree> "Forge"
[22:33:05] <lincolnthree> JBoss Forge if you like
[22:33:08] <mojavelinux> hmm, it's still pretty important to get that hooked in, but Arquillian has the same issue on this site
[22:33:20] <mojavelinux> no good place to put it...perhaps a tooling link?
[22:33:26] <mojavelinux> and not that stupid link that's there already
[22:33:30] <mojavelinux> that's so out of place no one sees it
[22:33:31] <lincolnthree> a sidebar link to the home-page wouldn't be bad

[22:33:51] <lincolnthree> do it
[22:33:51] <mojavelinux> it's so ambigious
[22:33:52] <lincolnthree> it's stupid
[22:33:57] <lincolnthree> and at the bottom

[22:34:14] <mojavelinux> it should be like this
[22:34:17] <mojavelinux> Seam 3 > Tools
[22:34:29] <mojavelinux> how about
[22:34:44] <mojavelinux> Download, Documentation, *Tools*, Solder, * Module, ..., Module Handbook
[22:34:55] <mojavelinux> it' logical
[22:35:03] <mojavelinux> you get a download, you get some docs, then you need some tools
[22:35:23] <mojavelinux> and yes, tools could come first in that, but when people check out a project, they first want to know that it can be obtained
[22:35:32] <mojavelinux> hence why downloads and docs come first
[22:35:38] <mojavelinux> though I still think that download and docs should point to the same page
[22:35:57] <mojavelinux> on the tools page, I think we need like a two pane view
[22:36:03] <mojavelinux> JBoss Tools on left, Forge on right
[22:36:18] <mojavelinux> just kind of a "busy visitor" kind of page

[22:37:15] <mojavelinux> I don't really like the bar
[22:37:20] <mojavelinux> I like the *idea* of the bar
[22:37:24] <mojavelinux> but it doesn't look right as is

[22:37:37] <mojavelinux> as in horizontal rule...i'll play around
[22:40:13] <lincolnthree> ok
[22:40:18] <lincolnthree> i like the Tools page idea

[22:49:23] <lincolnthree> yeah I just realized that...
[22:49:27] <stuartdouglas> should be webapp/WEB-INF/beans.xml
[22:49:28] <lincolnthree> should be WEB-INF
[22:52:08] <Nik> misplaced/missing beans.xml and importing jsf scope annotation will probably account for a lot of grief for newcomers.
