[00:01:11] <Ionic> jmr_mp: writing a ticket just now
[00:06:09] <dports> While we're complaining about MacFUSE, it sure is nice of it to go and #define __FreeBSD__
[00:06:19] <Ionic> Any CC I should add?

[00:10:36] <Ionic> Ok
[00:10:44] <Ionic> What about the version? Just leaving it blank?
[00:11:00] <jmr_mp> blank or whatever you're using, doesn't really matter

[16:21:04] <Raim> there is no libpthread on OS X, so that's okay

[16:53:39] <crtxc> I was reading on the libtorrent-rasterbar site in the build section about this http://www.rasterbar.com/products/libtorrent/building.html.
[16:53:57] <crtxc> For example when installing boost on darwin using darwinports (the package system based on BSD ports) all libraries are installed to /opt/local/lib and headers are installed to /opt/local/include. By default the compiler will not look in these directories. You have to set the enviornment variables LDFLAGS and CXXFLAGS in order to make the compiler find those libs. In this example you'd set them like this:
[16:54:03] <crtxc> export LDFLAGS=-L/opt/local/lib
[16:54:05] <crtxc> export CXXFLAGS=-I/opt/local/include
[16:54:09] <crtxc> It was observed on FreeBSD (release 6.0) that one needs to add '-lpthread' to LDFLAGS, as Boost::Thread detection will fail without it, even if Boost::Thread is installed.
[16:54:46] <Ionic> Yes
[16:54:51] <crtxc> But I tried all these suggestions resulting in failure.
[16:54:53] <Ionic> But MacPorts does that for you
[16:55:00] <crtxc> Oh ok
[16:55:15] <Ionic> I'm not sure what happens there
[16:55:21] <Ionic> And hungry too
[16:55:24] <crtxc> Nor I.
[16:56:47] <crtxc> Well you must eat then. I have no Idea why these libraries are not being find. If only I could say "ibboost_system-mt.dylib is here go use it"
[16:57:18] <crtxc> do that with all three libs needed (as shown by otool -L) and be done.
[16:58:53] <crtxc> like I said it is something inside macports because outside /opt it builds fine. I build it in a test directory (that is; --prefix=~/Desktop/test) and it build fine.
[16:59:30] <crtxc> I set the exports as ^^ for building outside /opt
