[21:31:04] <jmtran> We had an odd case with the Announcements portlet where it ran out of connections randomly, but that was last year and I think it's been resolved
[21:31:53] <bjagg> Before the changes, the connection pool was using defaults, which is 8 connections max
[21:33:07] <bjagg> Since KU uses News Reader heavily, I think lack of caching and the lower max had them hitting the limit
[21:33:35] <bjagg> I have added caching and the connection max limit is significantly higher
[21:34:13] <bjagg> Plus I switched the pool with more explicit/forgiving config values
