[00:22:19] <benny`work> pombreda, ping
[01:02:06] <pombreda> benny`work: pong :-)
[01:02:54] <benny`work> pombreda, just a quick question to my I-know-all-plugins-god ;)
[01:03:02] <benny`work> pombreda, cvs changelog plugin...any idea if there are any active projects with the same approach?
[01:03:26] <pombreda> yep there are a few
[01:03:35] <pombreda> I think on the linux project @ eclipse now
[01:04:16] <benny`work> eh..as i understand that plugin is to WRITE changelogs ?!
[01:04:49] <pombreda> it is not @ eclipse
[01:04:51] <pombreda> there are a few
[01:05:00] <pombreda> let me dig those links for you
[01:05:05] <pombreda> there are least two
[01:05:07] <benny`work> i need something like Show History for whole projects instead of just on a per-file basis
[01:05:32] <benny`work> or better: cvs log to rss script ;)
[01:05:45] <benny`work> without modifing cvs server
[01:05:46] <pombreda> humm. not sure there is something like that
[01:05:58] <pombreda> http://www.easyeclipse.org/site/plugins/changelog.html
[01:06:10] <pombreda> is a changelog creation too
[01:06:16] <supergreg> can I ask stupid questions too? I just wonder if there is a keyboard shortcut to jump to the line you were editing before the current one. Say you are working on line 1233 of a file, then need to change something in a class on line 45... I want a shortcut to jump back to line 1233.. even with the outline, its a lot of scrolling... is there such a thing?
[01:07:09] <supergreg> erm, that came out wrong, I meant: Since we are asking questions, can I ask a stupid one. No offence, benny`work :S
[01:07:28] <pombreda> supergreg: use the arrow buttons maybe?
[01:07:36] <pombreda> and map a key to them
[01:07:54] <pombreda> benny`work: http://people.redhat.com/pmuldoon/ is the dude then...there should be also...
[01:08:06] <pombreda> http://xnap-commons.sourceforge.net/eclipse-changelog-plugin/
[01:08:47] <benny`work> i'll take a look...big thanks pombreda
[01:12:24] <supergreg> thanks, helpful as always pombreda! I read you had a chat with the joomla guys recently, I'm excited to see what comes of that collaboration!
[01:12:29] <pombreda> and http://versiontree.sourceforge.net/ which is related
[01:15:40] <pombreda> and that is not a plugin but related : http://vcsreport.sourceforge.net/ and http://sourceforge.net/projects/e8x2/ and http://sourceforge.net/projects/cvsupdatecheck/ and a branchview one here: http://andrei.gmxhome.de/perforce/BranchViewWrapper.html
[01:15:51] <pombreda> benny`work: that's it
[01:16:07] <pombreda> supergreg: yes, we are working on an ide and plugins for joomla together :-)
[01:16:26] * pombreda gest back to work :-P

[02:55:08] <pombreda> :-)

[02:57:44] *** rcjsuen has joined #easyeclipse
[02:57:45] <duarte_> thank you pombreda :)
[02:58:24] <duarte_> has anyone tried epic yet?
[02:58:34] <pombreda> duarte_: sure
[02:59:03] <pombreda> duarte_: it is decent, was quite for a while, but there is now a lot of dev activity again
[02:59:13] <pombreda> s/quite/quiet
[03:00:22] <pombreda> duarte_: which build/version are you using? that from easyeclipse?
[03:02:35] <duarte_> epic 0.6.0
[03:03:17] <duarte_> i installed it from their website... most up to date version
[03:09:51] <duarte_> I would prefer to use eclipse to do my perl programming but I think I have to other option but to keep using a proprietary IDE :(
[03:10:37] <duarte_> komodo
[03:14:00] <duarte_> pombreda, did you have to install padwalker to make the local variables visible in the debug?
[03:15:55] <pombreda> duarte_: yes
[03:16:16] <duarte_> I cannot understand what i am doing wrong...
[03:16:40] <duarte_> I have installed it but eclipse does not seem to recognize it :S
[03:17:42] <duarte_> do you think I have to specify in eclipse where to find the module?
[03:17:56] <duarte_> could not find any place to declare that
[03:19:40] <pombreda> duarte_: humm did you read the guide : http://e-p-i-c.sourceforge.net/downloads/EPIC_User%27s_Guide.pdf.zip ?

[03:34:29] <duarte_> pombreda, yes I did read it... and followed it but to no avail
[03:35:02] <pombreda> duarte_: then file a bug with epic :-\
[03:35:47] <duarte_> ok... :) thank you anyway
[03:36:12] <pombreda> duarte_: sry I could not be of more help, but you have frist to make sure padwalker runs in perl proper
[03:36:50] <pombreda> duarte_: there are some subtle deps if you use active states perl, depending on versions
[03:38:12] <duarte_> I do not use active perl
[03:38:26] <duarte_> I am on ubuntu linux
[03:38:45] <duarte_> no I use the perl that comes with this distribuition
[04:00:07] <pombreda> duarte_: makes ure that the epic prereqs between perl and padwalker are the right ones
[04:00:12] <pombreda> right versions and so on
[04:00:24] <pombreda> and try to use padwalker as in outside of eclipse
